From 2002 - 2015 Pieter Bos performed internationally, working in bigbands, ensembles of all genres, led jazz trios, & performed as a solo piano & vocal entertainer. As highly accomplished pianist & keyboardist, he has performed extensively around the globe & resided in Colombia, Argentina, Korea, Japan & the Netherlands. This, coupled with strong technique and knowledge of theory jazz & improvisation, - has ellowed him to develop a unique creative performance style.  In 2016 Pieter returned to New Zealand, to resume his earlier teaching practice & currently performs locally - sharing & promoting his passion for music & skills in Piano, Keyboard & Jazz.

Pieter is always enthusiastic to teach anyone willing to learn and dedicate some practice time to their instrument. Be this for beginner starting on the journey of music, or those simply wishing to "keep it light" - to learn fun reportoire, or for those wishing to 'extend' further in technical ability, creative improvisation techniques, or in jazz theory performance.  Thus students have a huge input into what they learn with lessons constructed around students interests and requirements - engaging and informative. Pieter holds great importance on helping students find their own 'musical voice' in a safe, supportive environment. In most lessons students learn aspects of theory, aural & reading skills as well as "fun" reportoire giving proficiency in a "fun" manner.  His teaching style contains both elements from Classical and Jazz disciplines.  By combining technique and reading abilities with improvisation and theoretic understanding, students will have a good grasp on where they want to take their music. Pieter is eager to pass on performance skills & knowledge to both audiences & piano / keyboard students in the Wellington community. He is more than happy to discuss any performance or teaching requirements you may have!
