Cuban-born Beatriz Gabote Paredes is a versatile musician and singer whose primary instrument is the viola. She began violin studies at the age of eight at the El Cuculambé Conservatory in Las Tunas, Cuba, and performed with chamber, symphonic and choral ensembles while distinguishing herself in provincial competitions.
After nine years of conservatory studies in Cuba, Beatriz continued her education at the Conservatoire de musique de Québec. Her Canadian experience has included orchestral and film-music ensembles, while her vocal career has featured work with Latin Divas, Kumbancha and a wide range of musical collaborators. She currently develops the BGM Duo project with pianist Manoel Vieira.
