Lurrie Bell
Lurrie Bell is the son of celebrated harmonica player Carey Bell. He began teaching himself guitar at the age of seven and grew up surrounded by the sound and spirit of Chicago blues.
His development was shaped by musicians including Eddy Taylor, Big Walter Horton and his cousin Eddy Clearwater. He also worked closely within the musical world of Muddy Waters and appeared on stage with Willie Dixon while still a teenager.
Through decades of performance, Bell has remained faithful to the emotional depth and directness of the blues. His playing is expressive, raw and unmistakably rooted in one of America's most important musical traditions.
