Cliff Stevens has been playing guitar professionally for longer than he sometimes cares to admit, around 35 years to be vaguely precise. Like so many blues musicians before him, he spent much of his career displaying his significant talents in relative obscurity as a sideman with various travelling groups. Crowds ranged anywhere from 14,000 at the Montreal International Jazz Festival to 1,400 at the Medley Club in Montreal to 14 drunks in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.
Celebrating their 22nd year together , The Respectables really now know the ropes of Rock and Roll Music and Industry and still have a few tricks up their sleeve…
They are currently busy writing songs for 2 new upcoming albums ; one in french for their home market of Quebec (where throughout the years they have won numerous prizes, have sold gold records and where they-among many other things-opened for THE ROLLING STONES during their Forty Licks Tour at the Bell Center in 2003 ) and another one in english to follow up their great canadian debut album ‘SWEET MAMA’ that included the Hit ‘SUGAR’ which featured GORDIE JOHNSON, who has now been officially included in the songwriting process and who will be the man in charge of The Respectables’ both new productions!
