JPs' voice has a unique deep sound that delighted audience with its distinct phrasing and exacting diction. This southern diva has been described as an "extraordinary singer with a no nonsense attitude." In a deep, soulful voice, JP Miles sings with a life-affirming energy and intensity found in few other female vocalists.
She has the ability to command pitch and dynamics across three vocal octaves. Her singing style is informed by the harmony and improvisation of jazz horn sections. JP's vocals draw upon her roots in gospel, jazz, pop, R&B, hip hop, disco and blues. In 1995, JP released her debut CD, featuring the track Just in Time.
