Tanakrit studied jazz piano with Stefan Karlson, Sergio Pamies, Dave Meder and Pat Coil to name a few. He also studied classical piano with Thomas Schwan at UNT.
He had led his own projects comprising of current and former UNT students. The group had performed at venues across Denton.
He was also a member of the 4 O'clock Lab Band directed by drummer Colleen Clark.
The band performed a rigorous repertoire of Thad Jones-Mel Lewis, Marie Schneider, and Chick Webb.
Tanakrit was a finalist in 2018 Thailand International Jazz Conference solo competition.
